Hong Tsu 6-8 Physical Education
Happy New School Year
Thank you for joining our team. My name is Hong Tsu. I am a third year educator, graduate from Cal Poly Pomona. I would not have made it this far in life without my teachers. It is an honor and blessing to be able to teach for Royal Oaks Steam Academy and to serve our students.
Our theme this year is to level up. Just like in video games, we level up in life. In P.E, we encourage our students to challenge themselves, no matter the obstacles, so that they may leave here prepared for the next stage.
Mr. T? Mr. Tsu? Mr. Tsunami?
These are all names that students have known me by. I welcome all three.
A little more about me:
I was born in Vietnam. I came to the United States when I was seven years old on the pretext that we were going to the beach. We did go to the beach, just a little bit further than expected. I grew with cousins, uncles and aunties all in one house. There were twenty of us and though it was crowded, it was a fun.
My first name is not exactly my birth name. I was born named Hung. When we came over to America, my uncle did all the paperwork. His handwriting was very sloppy. Thus, Hung became Hong. Penmanship is important team.
I have lived most of my life in the San Gabriel Valley and continue to do so today. I was very lucky to have great teachers in my life. All of my qualities as a teacher can be traced back to them.
